Time Management Top: Business Owned?

Quick Time Management Tip #6

Are your Time management habits that of an employee?… start managing your time like a CEO.

Too many people get into business only to discover they acquired a new, tougher, more demanding, more stressful job.

You should work at weaning the business from dependence on you and creating dependence on systems. Keep a spiral notebook near you and write down how you do everything. This is the beginning of your system creation. Think of system creation in terms of time investment.

If your business is to provide security, freedom, and wealth, you must systematically reduce the dependency of the business on you. This is the secret to becoming financially independent through entrepreneurship.

One of the best time management investments you can make for your business.

Time Management: Indecision a Huge Waster of Time

Quick Time Management Tip #5

This is another one of those time wastes… Time management is nearly impossible when you allow this to continuously happen.

"Indecision is the graveyard of good intentions”

Indecision is a huge time waster. Indecision can contribute to many hours of mental anguish. Indecisiveness robs you of clear and focused thoughts.

For everything—absolutely everything— Do It Now! Decide now what the next best step is and then do that. The step may be small or big, but decide NOW—

Facing bad situations which do not make you happy or you need to make a major decision? Do not keep wasting time.do something, NOW !

Don’t worry that your decisions may turn out less than perfect. Remember… up to this point, you’ve survived everything unpleasant in your life.

Time Management Tips: Bundle Your Tasks

Quick Time Management Tip #4

Depending on how you’ve prioritized your day, you can bundle certain chores together, such as make and return your phone calls in one time block or answer your email. This can help you avoid jumping from one task to another and back again.

Time Management: Changing Old Habits

Quick Time Management Tip #3

Decide today to become an effective time organizer by changing old time wasting habits into powerful productive ones. Don’t try to change all of them at once. Focus on one habit at a time. Remember it takes 21 days to form a new habit

Once something becomes a habit, it’s much easier to do. Soon you will experience more time for things you really enjoy.

Simply The Best Time Management Tool

Simply The Best Time Management Tool

Quick Time Management Tip #2

Who said you need a fancy planner to management your time. This is probably one of my best kept secrets for staying focused getting many things done.

A countdown timer! My favorite tool to use to get more done.

countdown timerWorking on a project… set the timer for 30-45 minutes and stay 100% focused on the task at hand. Turn the phone and email off. Do nothing expect that task while your time counts down. Stop when it goes off. You’ll be surprised at what you can accomplish during your day.

I do use a fancy timer purchased at bed bath and beyond. You can pick one up in the house ware section of the grocery store. I avoid the one on the kitchen stove.

Some Free Alternatives

Here is another one I sometimes use. It’s online: http://timberfrog.com/countdown/ and if you use google tool, you can add this application to it.

If you want something on your desk top try http://www.timeleft.info/. It’s a nice little application. Also google desktop has a countdown timer application too.

Time Management: Five Quick and Easy Ways to Limit Interruptions

Time Management: Five Quick and Easy ways to Limit Interruptions

Quick Time Management Tip #1

Interruptions steal up your time like a thief. Time management is nearly impossible when interruptions occur everywhere. Time management teaches you to allowing time for interruptions. This is fine up to a point. Unexpected things will happen and interrupt your work flow or something takes longer than planned. However there are certain types of interruptions that can inhibit or even destroy your ability to follow your plans.

Here are five simple ways to limit interruptions so you can accomplish what you set out to do each day.

1. Hang an Available/Not Available Sign. When you need blocks of super focused time, hang a Not Available singn in your working area. Better yet, if you have an office with a door, close the door while you’re working. Let everyone know not to disturb you when the sign is posted. Likewise, schedule certain periods for handling questions, returning phone calls and email.

2. Turn off Technology: Get rid of or turn off Instant Messaging. Turn off email too.Set a time limit for internet browsing. Turn you phone off when working on your projects. Let voice mail handle your calls. Program your voice mail message with times you will return calls. Return calls and emails at a later time when it’s more convenient.

3. Say No to low priority requests for help.

4. Get Firm about Unscheduled Visits. There is something about working at home that people think they can stop by and visit. Ask friends and family to schedule visits with you during business hours, rather than just stopping by.

5. Go Into Hiding . Leave the office if you find yourself tempted to answer the phone and check email. Don’t tell anyone where you are going.

Revealing Time Management Secrets for Busy Entrepreneurs

How many times do you say to yourself, your circle of
business associates or friends, "There is just never enough
time in the day".

An entrepreneur, must use Time Management Skills to succeed.

Time management is simply the process of identifying and concentrating on activities that are important to you, and identifying and eliminating activities that can be dropped.

That’s time management in a nutshell. All boils down to a very simple rule- the 80/20.

The 80/20 rules states that 80% of your results comes from 20% of your efforts.

Start your day doing the high profit/high reward activities and end your day doing the low-no profit/low-no reward activities.

For example:

You dedicate eight hours of your day for business activities.

Make sure the first two hours are filled with high profit/high reward activities. The activities that will produce the most results.
