Time Management: Are You Wisely Managing Your Time to Develop Relationships through Social Networking Groups

Time management is critical in developing relationships. Do you believe time = money? Think again. My mentor Margaret told me Relationships = money. She said "Time never wrote her a check. All the checks she received came from relationships. Relationship produces results. With more results you can buy more time.”

Time allows you to build better relationships. Better your relationship. The better the money.

So that brings me to the question: Are you wisely managing your time to develop relationships especially with online social networking groups?

What is Social Networking?

Instead of me trying to explain it… this quick short video explains is so simply

Now that you understand the power of Social Networking, Let’s go over some time management strategies to build your network. We’ll use the I.O.E. approach discussed on page 56 of our free ebook "Thinking Outside the Clock"

Time Management for Social Networking – Identify

  • What are your objectives?
  • What outcomes would you like?
  • Compile a list of Social Networking site
  • Put your social profile together. I recommend using notepad or some other text editor over Word. It’s easier to cut and paste and doesn’t add any weird code or characters.

Time Management for Social Networking – Organize

  • Pick 3 social networking groups that you will devote the next 90 days to developing relationships
  • Make sure your websites are ready to go
  • Develop a signature
  • Set up accounts for your 3 social networking sites.
  • Invest time learn and familiarize yourself with the basic features.
  • Create your profile pages

Time Management for Social Networking – Execute

  • Make Friends. Many of the sites offer the option to connect with your email addresses.
  • Join groups

90 Day Social Networking Strategy Plan

First Month:

  • Identify a core group of people from your friends list and devote time to developing a relationship
  • Actively participate in groups
  • Strategically continue to add friends.

Second Month:

  • Continue to relationship building with your core group of individuals
  • Pick your top 3 groups and regularly participate. Volunteer to moderate if possible. Welcome new members
  • Occasionally post in the other groups
  • In the middle of the month, explore another social networking group.

Third Month:

  • Continue relationship building with your core individuals and groups
  • In the beginning of the month, sign up for an account with your new social networking group.
  • During the month set up your profile.
  • At the end of the month, evaluate your original social networking groups. Did the groups meet your expectations? Do they show potential? Eliminate any group that isn’t a good investment of your time. What about your core individuals? Remove anybody from that group where the relationship isn’t promising. Select a few more individuals do develop a relationship.
  • Add friends to the new social group you join this month.
  • Strategically continue to add friends in your original social networking groups.

Keep repeating the process. In about 6-9 months, you will build a powerful network of people.
