[Social Network Formula] Where is the Facebook Ignore All Button?
July 27th, 2008 · Filed Under: Social Networking
Facebook changed it’s profile look this week. I’m getting use to it. Actually I discovered I can get through Mari Smith’s Recommended Daily Activities Checklist much quicker.
Except for one little thing… The Ignore All button is gone… poof…. vanished. It took me 3 times longer to process requests this week. I’m not the only feel this pain… Jim Turner wrote an excellent note about the Disappearance of the Ignore All Button.
I already started blocking certain apps that I’ll never use but I noticed it’s often the same group of people sending app request. So I created an Application Acceptance policy. So from now on when someone sends me more than 2 frivolous applications, I exercise the option to ignore invites from this friend. It’s up to you to determine what you consider a frivolous application.
You can find this option right below the Accept/Ignore buttons
This DOES NOT block them as a friend… it only blocks you from seeing the application invite and they don’t know you are ignoring their invites.
Since implementing this policy, the time to process requests reduced dramatically and at times I can go for 24 hours or more without on application invite. Less time I use in processing app requesst, means more time to invest in connecting and building relationships.
PS.
My Mentor and Friend Mari Smith is hosting an impromptu Q&A Webinar on July 29 @1:00pm EST to review the new Facebook design, answer any questions you may have, show you a few cool things…. PLUS talk about some Twitter strategies. This is a PRIVATE webinar of the Facebook for Professionals program members.

The Art of Time Blocking can bring control and balance in your life.
While eagerly waiting the arrival of my new computer, something my husband said got me thinking… switching over won’t be a big deal. I’ll only need about a half a day to install all software and then I’m up and running. All my files reside on an external hard drive. That’s what got me thinking.
